New Firestone Roadhawk tyre. Built to perform longer

Firestone is aiming to shake up the mid-price tyre segment in Europe with the launch of Roadhawk, a tyre built to perform longer and offer drivers best in class wet grip and best in class dry braking.

Roadhawk targets mainstream motorists who drive all types of journeys – urban, highway, commute, school run, shopping – on a daily basis. These drivers want a tyre that gives them long-lasting performance in road conditions where wet weather, heavy traffic, sudden braking and motorway speed are all part of the daily mix. In short, a tyre they can always count on.

Thierry Jupsin, Director of Brands Marketing, Bridgestone Europe explains: “Firestone has been producing quality tyres for more than 100 years; we understand what tyres have to go through and we listen to what drivers want. This new Roadhawk is designed to give everyday drivers a high level of safety and long-lasting performance, whatever the conditions.”

New Firestone Roadhawk has been tested and proven by TÜV SÜD, the largest independent institute for tyre and wheel technology in Europe, and has received the coveted TÜV SÜD Certification Mark.

Bridgestone DriveGuard® The new tyre that changes the rules of the game!

On Sunday 11 June 2017, Elastrak the exclusive distributor for Bridgestone tires in Greece presented the new tire that changes the rules of the game: the Bridgestone DriveGuard, the "guardian angel" of the drivers.
The presentation took place in a historically significant area, at Lavrion Technological & Cultural Park, which has hosted some of the most important innovations in Greece, such as the first call center and the first computer.
In an "all-day celebration", ELASTRAK's dealers and press reporters had the opportunity to experience Bridgestone's innovative technology, the ultimate DriveGuard experience.
Bridgestone's DriveGuard is part of the company's commitment to road safety - practically in all conditions - as it can help prevent accidents that may result from tire damage or sudden loss of air pressure. The Bridgestone DriveGuard is mounted on almost any vehicle equipped with TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) 1
Guests enjoyed an interactive presentation with ELASTRAK's Managing Director Panayiotis Diamantopoulos and had the opportunity of an exclusive test drive to experience the comfort and performance, driving with and without air pressure (safe and comfortable driving despite total tyre air loss for up to 80 km up to 80 km / h).
Thanks to the new Bridgestone DriveGuard tire you get to your destination even if your tire has a puncture!
For more information, photographic and audiovisual material from the event and test drive, visit the link:, which will be constantly updated.

1 Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is electronic equipment designed to record the air pressure within the tire. The system transmits a signal to warn the driver in the car. If the pressure drops below a certain level, the driver's notice will appear on the dashboard of the car. Driving distance after tapping your tire may vary based on vehicle load, outside temperature and when the TPMS is triggered.

Bridgestone tyres selected for first Maserati SUV

Maserati has selected Bridgestone tyres for the new Levante, the luxury brand’s first-ever SUV.

The all-wheel-drive SUV started leaving the Mirafiori plant near Turin in May 2016, fitted with Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport tyres in size 255/60 R18 108W.

Bridgestone developed the Dueler H/P Sport tyre specifically for today’s high-performance SUVs. With a tread design modelled on the Potenza sport tyre pattern, Bridgestone brings drivers the high-level steering response, wet control and in-car comfort they expect from the world’s most luxurious SUV models. Tyres will be marked ‘MGT’ to indicate approval by Maserati as original equipment on their vehicles.

Helping to keep a legend on the road..!

Thanks to a coming together of minds, Bridgestone has started working with Don Law XJ220 in the UK to develop a new generation of tyres for the legendary Jaguar XJ220.

The original collaboration in the development of the tyres for the XJ220 is well documented. However, tyres of the size required for the car went out of production some years ago.

Through a chance meeting, Don Law opened discussion with Bridgestone Europe on the possibility to produce new tyres meeting the original demanding specification.

Thanks to network of enthusiasts for the car, the two companies have now brought together a team which includes the original chief development engineer, test driver, and also the famed chassis number 004 pre-production model.

“It’s very important to keep such iconic vehicles running today and supporting people like Don Law and his team of expert technicians. Technology has moved on significantly in the last 25 years and we believe we will be able to produce a tyre that will keep the smile on the face of the enthusiast drivers of the XJ220” says Christophe de Valroger, Vice President Consumer OE at Bridgestone’s Europe.

The project is moving fast, and the aim is to have the XJ220 celebrate its 25th birthday with a new pair of Bridgestone shoes in 2017.
